Program Development

Since its inception in Columbus, Ohio in 1978, the CAP Project has been offered to more than 7 million children and 500,000 parents, school staff and community members, It has been described by many as one of this country's "most comprehensive and innovative abuse prevention programs."

Children in more than 25 states and 12 countries have participated in CAP's fun and empowering workshops. CAP works closely with law enforcement, community groups and local school districts. Many schools have made the program a standard part of their elementary curriculum.

The national headquarters is based at the Educational Information & Resource Center (EIRC) in Sewell, NJ.
