NCAP Legacy Website Retired

As part of our ongoing commitment to cybersecurity, we retired the legacy ncap.org.uk website on 24 June 2025. Going forward our new platform – ncap.org – will be the gateway for NCAP online services.

Why the Change?

Our new online platform offers a modern, streamlined experience, making it easier and faster to find, view, and purchase historic aerial imagery. While we understand that change can be disruptive, these updates are essential to ensure long-term service quality and sustainability.

We are accelerating the digitisation of our collections to make larger volumes of imagery available than ever before but appreciate that some imagery previously available will not become available again online for an extended period of time.

What’s Changing?

  • Legacy Website Closure: The old site was decommissioned on 24 June 2025.
  • Image Access: Our next upload of imagery to the new platform will bring the total to nearly 1 million images. Keep an eye on our newsletter for updates.
  • User Accounts: Accounts from the legacy site have not been transferred. Saved images, favourites, and galleries are no longer accessible.
  • Subscriptions: A new subscription model is coming soon. We appreciate your patience during this temporary gap in service.
  • Refunds: If you’ve purchased an annual subscription in the past 12 months, our team will have been in contact directly with refund information.

Supporting Our Users

We understand that this transition may cause inconvenience, especially for our paid subscribers. Please know that our team is working hard to deliver a better, more powerful platform. We’re confident the improvements will be worth the wait.

Finding Aids

We’re also working to make finding aids available via subscription. In the meantime, do please get in touch with the NCAP sales team if you are looking for not-yet-digitised aerial photographs or have any related questions.
