How it Works
A Letter of Authenticity provides formal documentation relating to the aerial photograph you have purchased. Compiled by NCAP's aerial photography specialists, it records key information about the image, its origins and the digitisation process used to create your digital copy.
This service can be particularly valuable where aerial photography forms part of a professional report, planning submission, legal case, heritage assessment, environmental investigation or other evidence-based project requiring a clear record of provenance.
Please note that this service is currently only available for aerial imagery of the United Kingdom.
What Information Is Included?
Where available, a Letter of Authenticity may include:
- The date and time the photograph was captured
- The altitude of the aircraft at the time of photography
- The focal length of the camera lens used
- Details of the organisation, military unit or survey company responsible for the photography
- Archive reference information relating to the original photograph
- Information about the digitisation process and scanning resolution
- Any other relevant technical information held within the archive record
