Research Copies
To inform your decision about whether or not to proceed with high resolution Scan on Demand, the National Collection of Aerial Photography (NCAP) offers low resolution (72ppi) research-quality copies, which can be ordered and delivered in advance.
How it works
Research copies are most commonly sourced from NCAP's holdings of microfilm. You should order these through the Image Order Form.
Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email from the NCAP team. You will be provided with a full quote and expected delivery dates, at which point you will be able to cancel or proceed with your request.
- Orders of up to 25 research copy images are typically delivered within 10 working days.
- Expected delivery dates will be confirmed for orders over 25 images after order is placed.
If the research copy satisfies you that the image is indeed the correct one, you can then place a Scan on Demand order to request a high resolution image taken from the original film or print.
Request a research-quality copy through the Image Order Form.
