Aerial Photography, Golf and Royal Troon
Aerial photographic surveys were undertaken for a range of technical purposes; today these photographs can be used to understand land-use change over time, including the development of golf courses. This possibility has inspired the creation of a gallery of NCAP images charting the development of Royal Troon Golf Club from the 1940s onwards.

Operation REVUE
In the immediate aftermath of the Second World War, the Air Ministry directed the Royal Air Force to undertake Operation REVUE, a comprehensive aerial photographic survey of the United Kingdom. Running from 1945 to 1951, it led to the creation of an invaluable resource for post-war reconstruction and development, which is still cared for by the National Collection of Aerial Photography.
